Triple-Fer: A new alternative to injecting young pigs with Iron
1st October 2008
Norfeed UK are launching a new product which can replace the need for young pigs to be injected with an iron supplement. With Triple-Fer the pigs obtain the amount of iron they need by rooting in the product which can be put on the floor or in a feeding bowl. The product contains easily absorbed iron compounds, different diarrhoea hampering oils and a vitamin supplement that eases absorption of iron into the pigs intestines.
A large number of trials shows that Triple-Fer guarantees a higher level of haemoglobin compared to iron injections. It also cuts out the need to handle the young pigs to give them the iron injection.
